Ooops! I meant yes, I have read one or more books this year. I clicked on 50-99 so far.
I don't keep track, so I'm really glad the ranges were so big. While I don't know how many books I've read, I know it must be more than 10, but less than 50. Now, ask me how many I bought. I mean don't. Don't ask me that.
I know what you mean with the book purchasing. This is the first year in ages that I've treated myself to buying a few new books every couple of months. It's hard, though, not to get carried away.

I'm only counting the books I read for myself, not the ones I read out loud for Theo. :)
I'm counting everything on the first read including the books I read for the kids. I'm even writing reviews for their books. Board books are hard to review!
I used to keep track of the books I read but I stopped doing it for some reason and now I'm waiting until next year.
I clicked 10-49. I haven't been able to get through books as fast as I want to this year due to less time to be able to that. It can take up to four weeks for me to read a book for leisure at the moment since I have university books to read. Also, I often buy new books and start reading them before I've finished the one I'm currently reading. I just finished American Gods by Neil Gaiman and I started it about six months ago but I've read new books in between.
I've read about how you read books so fast but I could never read to the extent that you do (as much as I'd like to!).
When I was in school the bulk of my reading was school related. I counted all that reading on my list.
First off, I saw that too. Can you imagine not reading a book all year? There is a guy in my office who prides himself on not reading. eww.
Secondly- I love "Deadbeat Club"! That's one of my favorite songs. :)
There was a time as a child where I would have prided myself on not reading a book for a year. I can't imagine going back to that.
Have only counted books once... I end up rereading books a lot for essay/dissertation stuff. And that's also a "so far" and "at last count" number. I stopped keeping track when I got super busy.
I probably have to get thrown out, though, cause I read as a profession and thus my results are skewed by the fact my essential reading lists are usually at least 70 books long before you add in secondary, tertiary, and just barely related materials. I'm not sure how many books are "pleasure" only - so much of what I read fits into both "for school" and "for fun" categories. :)
I'm not looking for a pleasure only list. Just books. Any kind of books. Books for work count. Book for essays and dissertation count. :D
I may have read more-- I don't keep track but average 5 a week. (not to mention the kids books I read to grandchildren-- If I count those, the score doubles or triples.)
I'd count the books read to grandkids.

Oh! I'm afraid that puts me into the category where people would actually question if I am human or not to read that much! : )
I've read 64 - must get round to writing up what OI thought of the latest 2 in the next day or so.

I've ONLY read about 120 books this year (of which about 60 are mentioned on my blog) because I also subscribe to too many magazines, so I wind up reading about 40 magazines a month along with 15 or so books a month.
Magazines are something I just don't seem to have the patience to read. I've stopped all of my subscriptions.
